Drum Trybe is a list dedicated to anyone interested in learning, sharing, gathering, or just listening or dancing to the best dedicated local community drummers every first Thursday of each month from Eight PM until Ten PM. Richard and Mary of All World Acres in Plant City are our gracious host. This Community’s Drum Circle is a fun entry-level learning experience that is accessible to anyone who wants to participate. Drum Circle participants express themselves collectively by using a chorus of percussion. Flutes, shakers, sticks, and vocals are all welcome to create rhythm while having a great time. Drum Circle is held at the TreeHouse Yoga Center, 8509 N. 29th St. in Tampa on each Thursday (Beginning April 7, 2005) and shall continue on the first Thursday of each month. We will meet downstairs at 7:45pm to allow time for the preceding class to end. The Drumming and Dancing will be upstairs in the big room. Please plan to leave promptly at 10 PM. There is no food or drink offered here. The room is carpeted so we have been asked to only bring bottled water.
Your comments are encouraged as we believe that opinionated contribution and hands-on experience are the best teachers. We offer: a sense of community, an introduction to rhythm and percussion technique, health benefits (including stress-reduction), and an outlet for creative musical expression. Besides being a quick and easy way for you to get involved in music-making, DrumTrybe is exciting proof that people entrain to a dominant Drum Circle rhythm, that rhythm is innate, and dancing and drumming will bring it out in people.
This is a free family friendly event, with kids participating, and being around child-loving adults who don't ignore them. “Facilities” are available. Bring your beliefs, percussion instruments, your kids, and your hopes and aspirations. Most of all… plan to have a good time, kick back and enjoy the rhythms.
