Having just finished licking the whipped cream off of her arms
(mmmmmmmm...delicious. Thanks, Miss Crow!) Starfire finds her
clothes, gets dressed and walks to the local WalMart.
The people there look at her strangely. Starfire realizes that,
while her arms are clean, the rest of her body is not! She gets a
look in a handy mirror and realizes also that her hair is now
standing straight up, thanks to the whipped cream!(Quite a feat, I
know. Good aim, Miss Crow!) Hmmmmm.....
Starfire takes a detour to the ladies' room and washes off the best
that she can. Now she's wet, but presentable!
She goes back out into the store to the toy section, and gets three
super soakers off of the shelf. She swings around to the food
section and gets........
(drumroll, please)
White Zinfandel, Strawberry milk, and.......chocolate syrup! And of
course, more chocolate pudding!
Starfire pays for her purchases and leaves the Walmart. On her way
back to the garden, she loads the three super-soakers. She sneaks
back into the garden, sheds her clothes, and searches for
targets......
She spies Miss Crow sneaking through the undergrowth! Takes aim,
fires....
SPLAT!SPLAT!SPLAT!
Miss Crow is now covered in chocolate syrup!
LOL
Love you Miss Crow
Starfire
;-)

Crow rummages in her bag of tricks and pulls out....(no, not a
rabbit - she
tosses the fluffy thing away gently, and it scampers off into the
depths of
the wild Garden) two spray cans of whipped cream.

"Hrmmm.... a little retro, but it'll do," she says, smirking,
before
shrieking the war cry of the long-lost Hir-shi tribe and
splattering
Starfire and Lyl with nitrous-powered sweetness!

;-P

(phoenixfestivals@yahoogroups.com)! on 4/5/01 3:29 PM you were quoted as
saying:

We have so many talented writers, and poets, and other artisans in
our midst! I am wondering about a Phoenix publication once each year
to help make $$$ for the community Land fund...I bet we can get folks
to contribute.

It has long been a dream of mine to produce a quarterly called "The Phoenix"
(which is why the guidebook and such looks like it does). But, alas, the
time.

I am desperately searching for a used medieval or renaissance style
tent/pavillion, and am running out of places to look... anyone have any ideas?
Since the merchants at the festivals use this style of tent, I thought
someone out there might know someone who knows someone who is selling theirs.
LOL

I believe Joan Candelino and Tome Strode manufacture wall tents, And I know
for sure that Rowan and walker were once in touch with People who use them
regularly.... Maybe they'll speak up (hint...Hint...)

(phoenixfestivals@yahoogroups.com)! on 4/5/01 3:29 PM you were quoted as
saying:

i certainly did not mean to imply making village meetings mandatory or
anything like that. if they were, i certainly wouldn't attend. it's just
that people always talk about what a great community we have at
festivals but hardly any one shows up for the 2 things that truly make
up the community, the village meeting and the village council, the 2
opportunities where each individual has an input on the parameters that
make up the community. it's something that has puzzled me for the 10
years that i have been attending pagan festivals. one of my 2 pet
peeves. (the other is people blowing off their work shifts.)

Mine too.

For Fires we've moved the Village meeting to Main ritual Circle and just
before the Evening event (8:00 - 8:30 depending on the night). Maybe it'll
help, maybe not, like everything we try it's only a test until it works.

We had a real problem with workshifts at PhoenixPhyre 2001. And Frankly I
don't know how to handle it. On the other hand, we had some wonderful
people step up and work extra shifts (some as many as 9 shifts during the
event.) Suggestions anyone?

Village Meeting in the circle before the evening
festivities........that's an excellent idea.

Workshifts........hmmmm. I'll have to admit that I now owe the
communtiy a workshift. I only signed up and did one 'scheduled'
workshift at Phoenix Phyre this year. I feel pretty rotten for it
too. In past festivals, I have worked two scheduled shifts and up to 3
others as fill ins for those who would not volunteer. That was my
choice, and it does not excuse the one I missed this time so I'll do 3
at Fires......even though I offered my late nights to safety whenever
needed...but was not called upon at this event.

"Community". What does it mean? What is it worth? What does it take
in order for one to function......and survive?
Forgive me dear ones, I quit preaching almost 20 years ago...so I'd do
better to just remember the crede of my initiation which is: Honor all
paths, and do yer (censored) job.

(credit the late Serphant Stone)

Community Blessings,
Mino

i work for a vocation school and we do our entire brochure in microsoft
publisher. it looks nice and is not overly costly to print. we
generally get about 20,000 for about $3500.00. this is with a full
color front page and two colors through out the booklet.

If we go this route, I also have experience with MS Publisher, and type at a
respectable speed. As long as my schedule doesn't change horribly, I would be
happy to help do some of the transcription and/or layout.

Debbie

For those of you who knew what Tim was talking about with regard to the Cow Game, I would be interested in hearing from you, because we would like to once again start this up.

I am looking for experienced Cow Players to discuss what if any rules would be necessary to govern the said practice of the game we will call COW.

Please email off the list if you are interested: spellqst@iag.net

Oooh - me too, me too! I think a journal, and also charms, like Denise
suggested, would be great fund-raisers (and also great fun!). WTG Tyla and
Denise!
